Connect eBay
Connect with one-click OAuth to create listings, update prices and sync your catalog.
Goal: Create listings, update prices in bulk, sync catalog.
Time needed: 3 minutes (automatic OAuth).
What You Need Before Starting
- Active eBay seller account (with permission to list)
- Access to your own eBay account (not a sub-user)
- Business Policies created (payment, shipping, return) — needed only if you want to create new listings
- A web browser
About Business Policies: If you already create listings manually on eBay, you have policies. If you'll use SellerForge to create listings, you need at least one policy of each type (payment, shipping, return) in eBay before using the integration.
Step-by-Step
1. Go to Integrations in SellerForge WMS
- In the SellerForge WMS app, go to Settings → Integrations
- Click the eBay card
2. Connect via OAuth (one click)
- You'll see a Connect eBay button
- Click it
- You'll be redirected to eBay's website
- Sign in with your seller eBay account (if not already logged in)
- The screen will ask for permission:
You'll allow SellerForge WMS to access:
- Your listings
- Your orders
- Your prices
- Your business policies
- Your sales history
- Click Agree / Allow
- You'll be redirected back to SellerForge WMS
- Done! eBay is connected
3. Business Policies (only if you want to create listings)
If you plan to use SellerForge WMS to create new listings on eBay, you need to have business policies defined. If you already create listings manually, you have them (skip this step).
To create/verify your policies:
- Go to https://www.ebay.com
- Go to Seller Hub → Account Settings (gear icon)
- Look for Business Policies in the left menu
- You must have at least:
- 1 Payment Policy (how you accept payment)
- 1 Shipping Policy (shipping options)
- 1 Return Policy (do you accept returns?)
If you don't have any, click Create Policy and follow the wizard. It takes 2-3 minutes per policy.
4. Test the Connection
After connecting via OAuth:
- Go back to the eBay card in SellerForge WMS
- You should see a message "Connected as [your_ebay_username]"
- Click Test Connection
- The app will:
- Fetch your listings
- Check if your business policies exist
- Confirm it can create listings
Test the Connection
After clicking "Test Connection":
- "Connection successful" → eBay is ready to use
- "Error: Business policies not found" → You need to create policies in eBay (step 3)
- "Error: Permission denied" → You weren't the one who clicked "Connect eBay" originally. Disconnect and reconnect with your account.
- "Error: Token expired" → OAuth lasts ~18 months; click Connect eBay again to renew
Advanced Section (Use Custom Keyset)
This is optional and only for sellers with very high API volume (millions of price updates per day).
Most sellers don't need this. Skip to "Troubleshooting".
If you really want to use your own keyset:
- If you're already an eBay developer:
- Go to https://developer.ebay.com
- Production Keyset → Copy Client ID (AppID), Client Secret (Cert ID), RuName
- If you're not an eBay developer:
- Sign up for the eBay Developer Program
- Create a production keyset (takes 10-15 minutes)
- Copy the values above
- Back in SellerForge WMS:
- In the Use Custom Keyset section
- Fill in Client ID, Cert ID, RuName
- Click Save
Troubleshooting
"Error: Business Policies Not Found"
Cause: You haven't created payment/shipping/return policies on eBay. Solution: Go to eBay → Seller Hub → Account Settings → Business Policies and create at least one of each type.
I completed the connection but don't see a "Connected" message
Cause: The page may need a refresh. Solution: Close and reopen the Integrations tab in SellerForge WMS (F5 / Cmd+R).
"Error: Permission Denied" or "Invalid Token"
Cause: Your OAuth token expired (~18 months) or you were logged out of eBay. Solution: Click Connect eBay again. Follow the OAuth steps. You'll be reconnected.
I want to disconnect and reconnect with a different account
Cause: You made a mistake connecting with the wrong account. Solution: In SellerForge WMS, click Disconnect eBay. Then click Connect eBay again with the correct account.
"Error: Keyset not found" (if using custom keyset)
Cause: Client ID or Cert ID are wrong. Solution: Go back to eBay Developer Program, verify your Production Keyset, and copy the values again (carefully, no spaces).
I can't create listings
Cause: Policies are configured but there's another error (ex: missing image, title too long). Solution: Try creating the listing manually on eBay first. If it works there, the error is in the data SellerForge is sending. Contact support.
Security
If you used OAuth (recommended): The token is encrypted and stored only in your SellerForge WMS database. No one from the SellerForge team can use it.
If you used a custom keyset: Your Client ID, Cert ID, and RuName are encrypted the same way.
You can revoke access anytime: Disconnect the integration in SellerForge WMS. The eBay token won't work anymore.
